Started by a small group of Shipwrecked fans, the Shipwrecked Comedy Wiki is your place for all things Shipwrecked! Whether that be getting more information about a character, a place, a project, or a member, this is the place to be. This is a free, public, and collaborative encyclopedia for everything related to Shipwrecked Comedy! Anyone is welcome to update or add information, but please read the wiki guidelines before starting to edit.
A Brief History[]
Sinéad Persaud wanted to create a girl scout cookie sketch featuring Edgar Allan Poe, so she went to Yulin Kuang to help carry out the idea. The two co-founded Shipwrecked Comedy in 2013. Then, they asked Sean Persaud to be the third member of the group and play the role of Poe. This short expanded into Shipwrecked's first larger scale/ full series project A Tell Tale Vlog. Later in the year, the group went on to film Kissing in the Rain with a larger (yet, still tight) production and cast. These shows and sketches established Shipwrecked Comedy as the loosely literary and historical comedy Youtube group that they are.
In the following years, Mary Kate Wiles and Sarah Grace Hart became offical members of the group while Yulin Kuang left (this established what is known as the 'core four' of Shipwrecked). The group then went on to produce the show Edgar Allan Poe's Murder Mystery Dinner Party in 2016. The series premeried at Buffer Festival and helped establish the group's future.
In 2017, the group was invited back to Buffer Festival and created the short noir film The Case of the Gilded Lily for it. Since then, the group have filmed several more shorts and sketches (some of them have also been shown at Buffer Festival). And, in 2022, they released the series Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story (their largest project ever) and began to produce The Case of the Greater Gatsby (their first audio drama).
During March 2023, the group announced that Sarah Grace Hart would be stepping back from her producer role with the group due to personal and career changes. The remaining three members continued on, and the "core four" era ended.
The group's current fanbase of over 53k YouTube subscribers has allowed them to succesfully fund their shows and company through Kickstarter and Patreon.
